Annual AC Inspections in Southern Colorado

Flow Right Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Electric provides comprehensive annual AC inspections to residents throughout Southern Colorado. Despite our proximity to the mountains, our region can get extremely hot in the summer and early fall months. When temperatures begin to climb into the 80s, 90s and triple-digit temperatures, you need to know that you can count on your home’s central air conditioning to help you beat the heat. An annual AC inspection can give you the peace of mind you need to know that your system will work when it matters most.

How Can an Annual AC Inspection Help?

Performing an inspection every year is part of responsible air conditioner maintenance. How does an inspection benefit your HVAC system?

  • Protect your home’s central air system by ensuring that the parts and components are all performing properly.
  • Your HVAC technician can help you detect problems long before they leave you sweating on the couch in front of a box fan.
  • Annual inspections create a record of the performance of your system and note potential problems that could occur later on.
  • Annual AC inspections can help you remain in compliance with your manufacturer warranty. By providing a record of responsible maintenance, you will have more support for each warranty claim you make.
  • Get the peace of mind of knowing that your system is safe, free of leaks or damage and ready to cool your home all summer long.

Brands We Service

Flow Right provides annual inspections for a variety of popular air conditioning brands from well-known manufacturers, including:

What is a Central AC Unit?

A central AC unit uses your existing ductwork to pump cool air throughout your home. There are different types of central AC units available. Please note that we have not included window AC units or portable air conditioners, as they are not the same as a central air conditioning system.

Split System AC Unit

A split system AC unit consists of both indoor and outdoor components and equipment to bring cool air into the home. The outdoor unit is housed in a specialized cabinet that protects the AC condenser, as well as the unit’s compressor. Inside your home, the AC system includes an evaporator.

Split systems are great for homes with an existing HVAC system that does not already have AC. They make it easier to integrate into your home without damaging your furnace or other HVAC equipment.

Packaged System

In packaged AC systems, the condenser, compressor and evaporator are all contained in the same system/unit and installed outside. You can elect for rooftop AC installation or have your unit placed on concrete along the side of your home, preferably where your home will provide natural shade to the system to protect it from the heat of the sun. In Colorado, the north or east side of your home will typically offer the best protection for a longer portion of the day.

Packaged systems offer the added benefit of having the option to also include a furnace. This type of system can provide you an all-in-one package that makes it easier to maintain and repair.

Is AC a Luxury or a Necessity?

Many homeowners consider AC to be an added luxury instead of a critical part of your home’s climate control system. While the cool and comforting air provided by your home’s AC system is certainly convenient when it’s 90 degrees outside, it can actually become a necessity for many people. More than 90% of US homes now have some sort of cooling system built into or added onto their homes to help them maintain their internal climate during hot seasons. In states like Arizona and California, and in many parts of Southern Colorado, AC isn’t just comfortable, it can improve overall quality of life. Who benefits the most from your home’s AC?

  • Infants and small children who struggle to maintain their body temperature
  • Senior adults
  • Remote workers
  • Pets, especially smaller animals
  • People with chronic illness or other struggles that make self-regulation of body temperature more difficult

Of course, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with simply not wanting to be hot when the temperatures outside begin to soar. We recommend air conditioning inspections to help ensure everyone, from the folks who need it to the folks who just want it, can enjoy the cooling benefits of their HVAC equipment.
